about Nancy & Daniel

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved animals. Every stray cat n the neighborhood would come by my house to get fed and get petted before school. My parents were perplexed and didn’t know how to deal with my intense need to take care of animals.  I also loved to draw,  crayons and coloring books. I grew up to become an artist, wife and mom to two boys, two beagles, three cats and one beta fish.

Daniel grew up with a beagle sidekick named Burgess. At age 7 he realized that burgers came from cows and it changed his life forever. He spent many a night sitting at the dinner table not able to get up until he ate everything on his plate. As soon as he left home to go to college he became a vegetarian.   He grew up drawing animals as well. We met in art school pursuing a computer animation degree.

My husband and I decided to go vegan in the Spring of 2010 after watching the movie Earthlings (www.earthlings.com ). He had been vegetarian for over thirteen years where I had only been vegetarian for about three. But in reality we were more starchatarians or cheesatrians than anything else! I knew in my heart that we needed to make the final switch to becoming vegan because we love our animals, care about our health and earth way more than our addiction to cheese.

The search for healthy vegan meals has lead me to studying plant based nutrition. I got my holistic health coaching license from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in August 2012. My goal as a health coach is to help others find what works for them in regards to eating more sustainable and compassionately.

Both Daniel and I are artists. Daniels work can be seen at www.danielweimann.com and my work can be seen at www.nancycuevas.com.  We donate 10% of our sales to The Humane Society of America.

Living compassionately is not easy, but it is so worth it!

Thank you for being here.
